copier/printer consultants. Many are either ex-industry salespeople or large accounting
firms. How do you choose which company is best suited to helping your
organization? Use the checklist below to narrow down your choices:
- Has proven expertise in the office equipment industry;
- Does not sell subscription services to manufacturers
or dealers;
- Generates ALL of its revenue directly from buyers
(never from equipment manufacturers or their dealers);
- Has three types of office equipment professionals on
staff: industry, networking and purchasing;
- Is well known and respected by both buyers and
sellers;
- Has supplier contacts at the national level;
- Is 100% focused on office equipment;
- Has extensive experience rating ALL brands of
print output devices;
- Has actually negotiated large contracts;
- Can provide a concrete list of deliverables and
precise steps that will be taken on your behalf;
- Has an open-door policy;
- Invites all suppliers to bid;
- Does not accept per-copy/print residuals or "kickbacks" from suppliers;
- Does not sell used or new equipment;
- Has clients in place with equipment from all major
suppliers; and
- Will be with you throughout the term of your
equipment vendor contract.
